Kennedy Wilson pursues multifamily acquisition opportunities where we can unlock value through a myriad of strategies, including institutional management, asset rehabilitation, repositioning and creative recapitalization. We focus primarily on apartments in supply-constrained, infill markets. We currently hold investments in approximately 37,600 multifamily units located in the Western U.S. (primarily the Mountain West and Greater Seattle) and Dublin, Ireland.
We source, acquire, and finance various types of commercial real estate which includes office, industrial, retail, and mixed-use assets. After acquisition, the properties are generally repositioned to enhance market value. Assets are either sold as part of property-specific investment strategies designed to deliver above-market returns to our clients and shareholders or held if producing above average returns. Kennedy Wilson owns interests in 223 commercial properties located primarily in the Western United States, United Kingdom and Ireland.
Our investment management platform offers acquisition, asset management, disposition and other investment-related services through several different investment vehicles. We will typically co-invest in these strategies, leveraging the company’s asset management expertise to generate attractive, risk-adjusted returns for our clients that include financial institutions, institutional investors, insurance companies, developers, pension funds, family offices and government agencies.
We have a successful track record of investing in debt opportunities alongside partners in our key markets across the globe. The debt-related investments include acquiring loans from financial institutions and other lenders as well as originating loans secured by high-quality real estate in the U.S., Ireland, and the UK, with a focus on construction, mezzanine, and bridge originations. Together with our partners, Kennedy Wilson has purchased or originated over $13 billion of real estate related debt since 2010.
