Award of prestigious WiredScore certification highlights digital connectivity at one of the largest mixed-use developments ever created in Ireland
Global real estate investment company Kennedy Wilson (NYSE:KW) today announces that Capital Dock Residence, the residential portion within one of the largest mixed-use developments ever created in Ireland, has been awarded the prestigious WiredScore Platinum certification.
WiredScore sets the global standard for technology in the built world, recognizing and promoting best-in-class digitally connected buildings across the globe. Capital Dock Residence, currently the only occupied or completed residential building in Ireland to hold the Platinum certification, was recognised for offering digital connectivity and infrastructure that ensures seamless experience for residents. Advancements at Capital Dock Residences include “Day One Connectivity” procedures that enable residents to connect to the internet the day they move into their apartment, dedicated telecommunication rooms to protect residents from data theft, and strong mobile coverage throughout the residences to ensure seamless data connections to make and receive calls in and around the building.
Jason Byers, Head of Residential Ireland at Kennedy Wilson, said: “The award of the coveted WiredScore Platinum certification to Capital Dock Residence is testament to our focus on incorporating leading edge technology across our development portfolio that helps provide a top-tier experience for our residents. Since its completion in 2018, the Capital Dock campus has become a landmark in Dublin’s South Docklands, and with this new certification, our residences will continue to set the standard for best-in-class technology well into the future.”
“Tom McClellan, Country Director for UK & Ireland and Growth Markets at WiredScore, said: “This achievement acknowledges Kennedy Wilson's position as a leader in innovation and recognizes the vast technological and digital connectivity advancements that Capital Dock Residences offers its residents. The road to WiredScore Platinum certification for homes was grounded in a rigorous evaluation process that focused on five essential aspects of modern living: master planning, infrastructure, services, monitoring, and innovation. Every step of the way we were impressed with the excellence of the building’s design, and Kennedy Wilson's commitment to investing in future-proof technology for their residents.”
Capital Dock is a 690,000 square-foot mixed-use development comprising 190 premium residential units that are at full occupancy; 2.5 acres of public space including a waterside park and playground; 460,000 square feet of fully occupied offices; as well as 27,000 square feet of restaurant, bar, and food offerings, including Dublin’s flagship Brewdog Outpost and Fresh the Good Food market.
The Platinum WiredScore certification demonstrates Kennedy Wilson’s ongoing commitment to technological innovation and sustainability. In another recent first for Irish real estate, Kennedy Wilson’s Coopers Cross development in Dublin’s North Docklands will make use of architectural aluminium fins to reduce the need for heating and air conditioning in its office buildings.
