William McMorrow is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Kennedy Wilson, a firm he joined in 1988. Kennedy Wilson is engaged in direct real estate investments and acts as a real estate service provider to a diverse client base. With Mr. McMorrow as the architect of the firm’s expansion into real estate brokerage, property management and investment services, the company has grown from one office, which was opened in 1988, to 20 regional offices around the US and Japan. Today Kennedy Wilson is a leader in its field, servicing more that $10 billion of real estate on an annual basis, managing some 40 million square feet of office, residential and industrial properties throughout the United States and Japan.
In 1995, the Company formed Kennedy Wilson Japan, which is now traded on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. In 2005, the company formed a joint venture with Wachovia Bank to acquire multifamily properties in Japan. During the past five years, Kennedy Wilson has acquired $5 billion in real estate assets in the U.S. and Japan, with its own funds and various institutional capital partners. The company has a long history of doing business in Hawaii and currently is engaged in two major residential land developments, the Dillingham Ranch (a 2700 acre development on Oahu) and the Kohanaiki Ocean and Golf Club on the Big Island. Kennedy Wilson Multifamily (US) has acquired 13,000 apartment units in the last five years. These properties are located in Southern California, the Bay Area, Sacramento, Portland and Seattle.
Prior to joining Kennedy Wilson in 1988, Mr. McMorrow has more than 17 years of banking experience. For five years he was the Executive Vice President and Chairman of the Credit Policy Committee at Imperial Bank in Los Angeles. Additionally, Mr. McMorrow held senior positions with a variety of financial services firms, including 8 years as a Senior Vice president of Fidelity Bank in Pennsylvania.
Mr. McMorrow attended Loyola High School in Los Angeles. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business in 1969 and Master of Business Administration in 1970 from the University of Southern California. He is on the Executive Board of the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate. Mr. McMorrow is involved in numerous charities in Southern California, including Chrysalis, the Rape Treatment Center, the Ziman School of Real Estate, the Village School and Loyola High School.
